The X Games are a series of extreme sports competitions broadcast by the ESPN networks. The X Games brand includes the Winter X Games, an event emphasizing winter action sports, including snowboarding, as opposed to skateboarding and BMX riding. The seventh edition of the Winter X Games became the first X Games to receive live television coverage. Over the course of three decades a number of the world’s most talented snowboarders have won medals at the Winter X Games.
